TAD’s Spotlight Concert is an adjudicators performance opportunity for professional, pre-professional and university dance companies and solo performers. We invite you to submit work electronically to be adjudicated for inclusion on this performance showcase.
The Cathie Ault Kasch Student Choreography Project (CKSCP) is designed to encourage leadership, creativity and collaboration for TAD student members. The project includes a performance where students perform original work followed by a feedback session class with the adjudicators that is open to all festival attendees. The feedback session is designed to give choreographer’s objective, supportive input on their work and direction to hone their abilities. Students aged 16-22 who are TAD members may apply.
The Tennessee Association of Dance offers two $1000.00 merit scholarships to young non professional dancers with professional potential. Each award will provide the recipient an opportunity for study during the summer immediately following award date. Additional funds may be available through TAD’s Collaborative Scholarship Partners. Award recipients must commit to a minimum of 2 weeks in a TAD approved program outside of recipient’s home dance studio. Payments can be made on our ticketing site when registering for the Festival. Students aged 14-21 who are TAD members may apply.
The Tennessee Association of Dance offers the opportunity to be seen in an audition class by representatives of several colleges from across the country at our annual Festival. Applicants must submit required materials on time, be registered for the Tennessee Dance Festival, and must participate in the audition class held during the Festival. The class will be conducted by members of the Festival faculty and will provide applicants an opportunity to demonstrate proficiency in the discipline(s) of ballet, modern, or jazz technique. Applicants who dance on pointe should bring their pointe shoes. The college audition class will be cancelled if fewer than five make application. Payments can be made on our ticketing site when registering for the Festival.
