			The Tennessee Association of Dance provides a variety of scholarship and professional development award programs to serve the needs of its members. Private donations are the lifeblood of these programs, and donations, large or small are always welcomed. Summer Study Scholarships, Merit Based Guidelines Form Three $500 scholarships for summer study are available each year to students with professional potential and aspirations. Applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 22, be residents of Tennessee and members of the Tennessee Association of Dance. The Kitty Sharp Scholarship, Van R. Ault Scholarship and Mary Willie Scholarship are offered through an application / adjudication process. The awards are made in October for use the following summer. TAD Conference Scholarships, Need Based The Tennessee Association of Dance is committed to offering a limited number of scholarships which will cover the cost of conference registration for dancers in need of financial help. Application for these need based scholarships must be made by a professional member of TAD on behalf of the individual requiring help. Professional Development Grants Guidelines Form TAD inaugurated its newest monetary award in FY2000. The Professional Development Grant is available annually to a TAD professional member wishing to pursue continuing studies in the field of dance. The applicant must have been a professional member of TAD for at least 5 years, with plans to remain living and working in the state in the foreseeable future. This fund is being established to encourage continued professional growth within our field and to honor the talent and dedication of our Tennessee artist / teachers.
